About

Sidonie Buicliu’s Art initially captures the eye, but after spending time with her work I find myself returning to it at least once a day because, more importantly, it has captured my heart. Her captivating style and confident expression at such a young age portend even greater things to come.” ~ Arran Kerrigan

Sidonie Buicliu was born in Edmonton, Alberta and she spent much of her youth sketching out the Prairie farm where her Mother grew up. She traveled through Eastern Europe, Great Britain and Eastern Canada and her work is influenced by her fascination with the many cultures of her Country and our world.
She spent time in Romania and her Romanian heritage is evident in the bold colours and smooth forms that elevate pieces such as “Romanian Wedding”.
Sidonie’s love for art and design was evidenced early by the plethora of sketch books filled with drawings, the cut out figures she drew and displayed with bendy straws and the elaborate costumes she designed for play including dresses with bamboo supports in them.
Her first commissioned piece, at 13, was a large banner for a Wedding party and other orders for Wedding art soon followed.
After four years enjoying Montreal and all it has to offer Sidonie has returned to the west coast to see what the future has to bring. Upcoming projects include a a growth in photography, as well as new inspiration for future art work from the beautiful coast.
